‘Hamilton' Coming to Baltimore for 4-Week Run Next Summer

The hit musical "Hamilton" will be coming to Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre next summer for a four-week run.

The hip-hop stage biography of Alexander Hamilton will run from June 25 to July 21, 2019. Hippodrome shows normally run for one week, so the longer stretch should make the odds of getting tickets a bit better, The Baltimore Sun reports

Current theater subscribers will have the first shot at getting a ticket. Renewals start Wednesday. New subscriptions will go on sale in mid-March.

People who want a single ticket will have to wait longer. The newspaper reports those are not expected to go on sale until well into next season.

Ron Legler is president of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, the Hippodrome's home. He says there will be a lottery for 20 pairs of tickets per performance.

If you can't wait until then, "Hamilton" is also scheduled to run at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. for 14 weeks this summer. Single tickets will go on sale for Kennedy Center members next month and for the general public in March.

"Hamilton," which centers around the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton, made history last year when it earned a record 16 Tony nominations and also won a Pulitzer Prize for drama.
