Man Shot Near Barbershop in Southeast D.C.

No initial word on motive

A man was shot near a barbershop in southeast D.C. Wednesday morning.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was shot about 11 a.m. in the 2400 block of Skyland Place. He went around the corner to the barbershop for help, police said. Someone inside called 911. The victim does not work at the barbershop, as previously reported.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.

One person is in custody. There's no word on a motive.
