Germantown Fatal Shooting Suspect Shoots, Kills Self as Police Try to Make Arrest, Police Say

The suspect in a fatal shooting in Maryland shot and killed himself as police moved in to make an arrest, Montgomery County police said.

About 7 p.m. Tuesday, officers were attempting to arrest the suspect in the death of Stephen Alexander Frazier when he shot himself inside a car in the area of Seneca Highway and Mateny Road in Germantown.

Officers were called to the 12900 block of Churchill Ridge Circle at 12:32 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the 20-year-old Frazier suffering from a gunshot wound outside.

Frazier was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
