Guests ‘Trash' Trendy Adams Morgan Hotel Room, Skip Out on $1K Bill: Police

After allegedly trashing a trendy Adams Morgan hotel room, police say seven guests skipped out on their bill and fled from an officer who tried to stop them.

The group reserved a room at The Line Hotel, which opened earlier this year. Rooms can run about $200 per night.

The group broke a lamp and trashed a room, according to a police report. Their bill came to $1,415, police said.

Surveillance video released by police shows five people, who appear to be young adult males and females, leaving the hotel on the morning of March 17.

An American Express card used by the group was repeatedly declined, police said.

Police confronted one of the suspects, but they ran away. The officer chased the suspect, but they were picked up by a black Jeep Cherokee with the other suspects inside. They escaped heading east on Columbuia Road Northwest.

Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of responsible persons.
