The environmental group Greenpeace staged a protest at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce building before noon Thursday.
They blocked traffic near the White House with fake police cars and a green rescue vehicle and declared the Chamber of Commerce a "global warming crime scene." Their point: Business interests have taken U.S. climate change policy hostage.
A spokeswoman for the Chamber of Commerce said the chamber welcomes constructive dialog on climate change.
She also noted the protest disrupted a charter school’s performance at the building.
