Girl Allegedly Molested Twice in Thrift Store

Police are looking for the man who allegedly sexually assaulted a girl in Montgomery County, Md., Monday evening.

The 7-year-old girl got separated from her family at Unique Thrift Store on Veirs Mill Road at about 7 p.m. Monday. A man approached her and touched her clothing in the area of her genitals, police said. The girl tried to get away from the man, but he followed her and touched her again the same way.

The girl ran and hid from the man in a rack of clothing. While she hid, she watched the man apparently still trying to find her, according to police. She then saw her mother and told her what happened.

Before leaving the store, the man went into a bathroom and came out wearing a different shirt, police said. Video surveillance captured images of the man in both shirts.

Anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the case should call police at 240-773-5400 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be sent via text message by typing “MCPD” plus the top and sending it to 274637 (CRIMES).
