Georgetown Dean & Deluca Reopens

Dean & Deluca in Georgetown has re-opened after being closed by the D.C. Department of Health Wednesday.

The health department said Wednesday that the store on M Street was closed due to the presence of "vermin."

Today, the store issued a statement that said the closure was due to "issues in our open-air cafe that arose from major construction next door."

The statement also said it would keep the outdoor cafe closed for now - "but only because there are birds that have flown into the open air space."

Guests are still welcome to sit at the cafe and eat food from the market, though Dean & Deluca will move its espresso bar inside until the outdoor cafe issues are resolved.

"We hope to re-open with full service as soon as possible," the statement read.

"As always, Dean & Deluca is committed to offering our team and guests the cleanest and most hygienic environment, and we will continue to work tirelessly to achieve the highest standards," the statement read.
