Georgetown DMV Office to Reopen Tuesday

If you need to go to the DMV in D.C., you just got another option.

A new and improved office in Georgetown is getting ready to open Tuesday morning, after being closed for the last two years.

The city celebrated its near completion last month, with Mayor Vincent Gray participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The branch is still inside the Shops at Georgetown on M Street NW, but was moved to a new location inside that mall.

With D.C.'s fourth DMV finally reopening, it may help cut down on those dreaded wait times.

You can monitor the wait online before you head out to the DMV in several jurisdictions, including Fairfax and Montgomery counties, where you can get your wait time in real time, too.
