General Motors Recalls Now Top 6 Million Since February

General Motors announced on Monday that it will recall more than 1.3 million vehicles due to issues with power steering. With this announcement, the list of recalled vehicles now tops 6 million since just February of this year. Here is the full list of recalled vehicles, listed by problem contributing to the recall in order of greatest number of vehicles impacted:

More than 2.6 million vehicles were recalled due to an ignition switch problem. This recall is also linked to at least 13 deaths, and was the focal point of the General Motors hearing on Capitol Hill this Tuesday. Here are the vehicles associated with this recall, including model years:

  • Chevrolet Cobalt 2005-2010
  • Pontiac G5 2005-2010
  • Saturn Ion 2003-2007
  • Chevrolet HHR 2006-2011
  • Pontiac Solstice 2006-2010
  • Saturn Sky 2007-2010

About 1.5 million vehicles were recalled due to power steering issues. These vehicles could experience a sudden loss of electric power steering assist. Some makes and models were also part of previous General Motors recalls, involving ignition switch problems. Recalled models are:

  • Chevrolet Malibu: 2004-2006 & 2008-2009
  • Chevrolet Malibu Maxx: 2004-2006
  • Chevrolet HHR (Non-Turbo): 2009-2010
  • Chevrolet Cobalt: 2010
  • Saturn Aura: 2008-2009
  • Saturn ION: 2004-2007
  • Pontiac G6: 2005-2006, 2008-2009
  • Service parts installed into certain vehicles before May 31, 2010 under a previous safety recall

 Another roughly 1.2 million vehicles were recalled due to airbag problems:

  • Buick Enclave 2008-2013
  • GMC Acadia 2008-2013
  • Chevrolet Traverse 2009-2013
  • Saturn Outlook 2008-2010

Nearly 500,000 vehicles were also recalled due to a transmission oil cooler line that is not securely "seated in its fitting." These vehicles include:

  • Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck 2014
  • GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck 2014
  • Chevrolet Suburban 2015
  • Chevy Tahoe 2015
  • GMC Yukon 2015
  • Yukon XL 2015

About 303,000 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana from the 2009-2014 model years were recalled to get reworked instrument panel material to meet compliance for unbelted passengers.
