A gunman tried to rob a gas station in Laurel, Maryland and shot the clerk, according to Laurel Police.
The shooting happened Saturday night at the Tiger Mart Exxon Gas Station on Sandy Spring Road.
Police say a suspect tried to rob the cashier, but the cashier fought back with the help of a chair.
The robber pulled out a gun and shot the cashier in the arm before fleeing on foot.

The victim was taken to Prince George's Hospital, where he is listed as being in stable condition with bruising on his head in addition to the gunshot wound.
The suspect is still at large and is described as standing 6 feet tall with a heavy set build and a beard. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, tan shorts, and a red baseball camp with a white A printed on it.
