Fuel Spill Slows Morning Commute on I-95S

    A fuel spill caused major delays for commuters traveling on Interstate 95 south Wednesday morning.

    Police and fire crews were called to I-95 South near Backlick Road at about 5:30 a.m. for a report of a tractor trailer stopped in the center lane. Authorities closed three lanes of traffic while VDOT, along with a Fairfax County Fire and EMS HAZMAT unit, cleaned up the scene.

    At its peak, drivers were experiencing delays of up to 15 miles.

    There's no word on what caused the fuel spill.
