Fredericksburg Icon Vandalized Over the Weekend

Wooden statue's head taken off

A Fredericksburg, Va., legend was vandalized over the weekend.

Herman the conductor lost his head. The wooden statue advertising Trolley Tours on Caroline Street in some form or another since 1994 was decapitated.

Herman is an icon in Fredericksburg, where people are often seen posing with him for pictures. Now he resembles one of those cutouts you place your own head in for a photo opportunity.

Named by the original owner after his silent partner, Herman will be replaced.

Authorities do not have any suspects, and no witnesses have come forward.
