Frederick County Sheriff's Deputy Charged With DUI

A Frederick County, Md., sheriff's deputy has been charged with DUI following an arrest over the weekend, authorities say.

Robert Phillips, a 7-year veteran of the sheriff's office, was arrested Sunday. He has been placed on administrative leave with pay.

"Dfc. Phillips has had his police powers suspended and will be placed in a non-law enforcement position until the case is adjudicated in court," the sheriff's office said in a release.

The sheriff's office said it will also be conducting an internal investigation into the matter.
