Four People Shot in NW Neighborhood Overnight

All expected to recover

Four people are recovering this morning after being shot overnight in the District.

Police went to the 500 block of Shepherd Street NW around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night after reports of gunshots but found nothing, police said.

A short time later, three people arrived at an area hospital with gunshot wounds. A fourth victim showed up soon after.

Each of the victims reported being shot near the 700 block of Shepherd Street NW, police said. District police are currently investigating the new scene.

All four victims suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police are looking for a dark colored SUV that may have been involved in the shooting.

Eight people have been shot in Ward 4 in the past three days, though none has died. It's the same area where a Catholic University student was killed last month.

If you have any information about the shootings, call police at 1-888-919-CRIME.
