Former Teacher Pleads Guilty in Molestation Case

Potomac School Updates Parents on Case

A private school in northern Virginia alerted parents about a former teacher, accused of molesting students, entering a guilty plea on Thursday morning.

A letter from the Potomac School’s Board of Trustees Chair indicated that Christopher Kloman pleaded guilty to four charges of taking indecent liberties with a minor and a charge of abduction with intent to defile.

Kloman was first charged last fall, nearly a year after one of his former students came forward to say Kloman abused her in the 1960s. She was 12 years old at the time. Several other victims also came forward over the course of the investigation, News4’s Erika Gonzalez reported last year. Kloman taught at the school from 1966 to 1994 and later went on to teach at other schools in the area.

The Potomac School says it remains “deeply disturbed” by the case and that protocols are in place to protect students.
