Former Montgomery County School Worker Charged with Possession, Distribution of Child Pornography

A man who was a lunch aide in one Montgomery County, Maryland, school and a former employee at a daycare housed inside another county school was arrested and charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

Maryland State Police said Sean Renfrew Kelley, 30, of Silver Spring, Maryland, was charged with three counts of distribution of imagery of a minor engaged in sexual conduct and seven counts of possession of imagery of an individual under the age of 16 engaged in sexual conduct. He was arrested at his home early Friday morning.

Investigators said they received notice from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the possession and distribution of child pornography by a computer. They were able to determine that the IP address used for the child pornography was assigned to a specific address in Silver Spring, which was Kelley's residence.

Melissa Brunson, principal at Cloverly Elementary School, sent a letter to parents on Friday, informing them of the arrest. In the letter, Brunson said Kelley was a temporary part-time lunch hour aide at her school, and a former employee of Kids After Hours, a daycare housed at Cannon Road Elementary School.

Brunson said police believe the child pornography photos discovered on the computer are not of any Montgomery County Public Schools student. She said the school system was offering counseling and support to any student who might need it.
