Five Adults Injured in Wheaton School Bus Crash

Three students were on the bus, but they were not injured.

Five adults were injured - one seriously - in an accident involving a school bus in Montgomery County Friday morning.

Police were called to Georgia Avenue at Heathfield Drive in Wheaton shortly before 8 a.m. Montgomery County school officials say the bus was trying to cross Georgia Avenue when it was struck by the car. Both the front end of the car and school bus were heavily damage.

Three students on their way to The Foundation School of Montgomery County, a private school for special needs students, were on the bus at the time of the accident. They were not injured. One adult on the bus was injured; the other adults were inside the car.

There's no word on the extent of their injuries.
