First Robbery in Past Year Reported at University of Maryland

Incident happened late Thursday

University of Maryland Police say on Thursday night they received the first report of an on-campus robbery in 12 months.

The incident happened in the area of Lot Y near Cecil Hall.  The victim, a student, said he was approached by two men wearing masks.

One of the masked men pulled a knife and demanded property, police said.  The victim was not injured in the robbery.

The two assailants are both described as six-foot-tall African American men, one of them with dreadlocks.
