Northbound Lanes of 14th Street Bridge Open Again

Commuters, your drive into the District just got a little bit easier.

After two years of construction, the northbound lanes of the 14th Street Bridge are back open for drivers.

District Department of Transportation officials say crews put the finishing touches on the lanes this weekend, resurfacing the bridge and deeming it ready for cars.

However, the construction isn't completely finished.

Crews will continue to work on the underside of the bridge, but this isn't expected to cause many delays.

Officials say if there are any more lane closures, they would happen during off-peak hours.
