Festival of Literary Arts Is Returning to Maryland

Several sessions are aimed at helping writers, bloggers and artists

The Festival of Literary Arts is back!

The Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council is collaborating with the PEN World Voices Festival to bring you a week of literary fun from May 3 to May 13. Activities for adults and families will be held at various venues in Maryland.

Visual artists, poets, authors and screenwriters will share their stories at panels and workshops where you can join the conversation. Several sessions are aimed at helping writers, bloggers and artists.

A Youth Reading Zone for kids to get free books from salons and barbershops is among the many draws of the festival.

If you like spoken word, Voices and Rhythms is the event for you. On May 4 from 7 to 9 p.m., award-winning poet Nancy Morejon will present some of her work during an open-mic night at Colony South Hotel (7401 Surratts Road, Clinton, Maryland).

This event is completely free.
