A Maryland father and son have been sentenced to 18 months in prison for cheating the National Security Agency out of nearly $1.5 million.

A federal judge on Friday also ordered 71-year-old William Turley of Annapolis and his 54-year-old son, Donald, of Owings, to serve a year of home detention for wire fraud and conspiracy. The father must pay a $100,000 fine and both must pay nearly $250,000 in restitution.

Prosecutors say the family's Upper Marlboro company, Bechdon, overbilled the agency for hours that were never worked.

A third relative, 50-year-old Christina Turley Knott of Edgewater, has admitted to participating in the scheme and pleaded guilty last year to failing to pay taxes on $4.5 million she embezzled from the business. Her sentencing is set for Wednesday.
