One person was killed early Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on the Capital Beltway's Outer Loop.
Maryland State Police officers responded shortly before 4 a.m. to the crash scene, located between University Boulevard and New Hampshire Avenue.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a jersey barrier, police said.
Police have not yet released information on the victim.
All lanes of the Outer Loop in the area of University Boulevard were closed after the crash, leading to a six-mile backup. The lanes have since reopened.
