A woman was killed Monday afternoon after an accident along Route 7 in Tysons Corner.
It happened where Leesburg Pike meets Spring Hill Road about 1 p.m.
Kil Sun Flom, 59, of Dale City, was driving an Acura eastbound when she tried to merge from the right lane to the center lane and collided with a small truck, police said. Flom pulled forward slightly, got out of her Acura and stepped in front of the trcuk below the driver's line of sight.
The truck continued with the flow of traffic and struck Flom, police said.
Flom was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash caused all lanes of Route 7 to be shut down for several hours. Some lanes remained shut down throughout the evening rush hour so police could complete their investigation.
