Shoe, Clothing Found in Search for Shaquita Bell

Crews search area where confessed killer says he buried woman

Searchers have found a shoe that appears to be the size Shaquita Bell wore was found Thursday in the area where her confessed killer said he buried her.

Thirteen years after her disappearance, police and Bell’s family launched another search Wednesday in a wooded area off Old Fort Road in Prince George’s County, where Michael Dickerson claims to have buried her body.

Crews searched with cadaver dogs and dug deep in the area with backhoes in hopes of finding her remains. They didn't find a body, but they did unearth a shoe and a piece of clothing Thursday.

Bell's mother said the shoe is the same size as the one Shaquita would have worn.

It’s the third time a large search effort has been conducted in the area. Bell’s stepfather said he’s hopeful about the prospects of finding something.
