Family Celebrates Surprise Return of Soldier From Iraq

A family is celebrating Saturday night after a father serving in the U.S. Army made a surprise visit just in time for his wedding anniversary.

U.S. Army Capt. Justin Brown had been serving in Iraq for a year before Saturday's return to surprise his wife and two children at National Harbor in Prince George's County.

The family waited at National Harbor while Brown, who battled through airport delays and traffic, arrived.

Officers from the Prince George's County Police Department even escorted him to the harbor.

"It's been a long time since I've seen them," Brown said before the surprise. "I'm feeling very anxious, I can't believe it's finally here. I miss my family like crazy."

The hard kept secret was tied together through help from his sister, who got the whole family together and kept them together without spoiling the secret.

Brown grew up in Prince George's County, but his family moved into a new house in Fairfax, Virginia, while he was away. He will get to see that home for the first time Saturday night.
