Police have charged a Fairfax County teacher with producing child pornography, nearly five months after he was found in a car with a 16-year-old girl.

Michael A. Sweeney was charged with one count of child pornography for a child under 15 years old, one count of production of child pornography for a child over 15 years old, three counts of solicitation of a minor using a communication device and five counts of possession of child pornography.

Police say the crimes happened between November 2013 and September 2015.

On Sept. 20, 2015, police found Sweeney in a car with the girl in a parking lot on the 8800 block of Richmond Highway. Sweeney, of Woodbridge, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police say Sweeney turned himself in at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center Monday.
