Fairfax County police discovered a body Saturday morning they believe is a woman who was reported missing.
Mary Gibson, 62, from Springfield, Virginia, went missing from the 7000 block of Galgate Drive on Friday. Police said Gibson left to take her dog for a walk at approximately 4 p.m. and has not returned.
Police said they discovered a woman’s body about one-half mile away from Gibson’s residence. Detectives believe the body to be that of Gibson and there were no apparent signs of foul play.
The medical examiner will confirm the identity and determine the cause of death.
