Fairfax County Police Department hosted a "Pokemon in the Park" event on August 5 at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station. The event, which was sponsored by Fairfax County Supervisor Pat Herrity, lasted from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

According to a Facebook post from the Fairfax County Police Department, the event served as an opportunity to catch Pokemon -- and learn about staying safe while playing "Pokemon Go." Free ice cream was also provided.

Guests included Fairfax County supervisors Pat Herrity and Kathy Smith, members of the Fairfax County Police and members of the Springfield District Council.
