Fairfax County Parkway Project Opens Early

Stretch between Rolling Road & I-95 now open for drivers.

Another portion of the Fairfax County Parkway is now open, one day ahead of schedule.

The segment between Rolling Road and I-95 opened at 5 a.m. Monday.  The northbound lanes in that area opened on Saturday, but now all lanes are open.

Motorists will be able to access this stretch of the parkway at Rolling Road on the northern end and Barta Road in the middle of the new segment, where motorists will be able to go north and south.  Barta Road will not be open to through traffic.

Now that the parkway is open, Rolling Road will be closed from Richfield Road to Chancellor Way for one year while crews build an overpass over the parkway.
