FBI Seeks Men Who Robbed 7-Elevens in D.C., Maryland, Virginia

The FBI is seeking men they believe robbed six D.C.-area 7-Eleven convenience stores at gunpoint and knife-point over the past two weeks.

Authorities believe at least two armed men held up stores in the District, Alexandria, Oxon Hill and Laurel, sometimes striking more than one location per night.

Almost all of the incidents occurred overnight.

"They seem to be familiar with guns, almost as if they've rehearsed or practiced," FBI Special Agent David Levalley said. "So rather than being a crime of desperation, these are more organized and more planned out crimes."

The first three robberies happened within less than three hours of each other, and another pair of robberies occurred about an hour apart:

  • Aug. 27, 2:03 a.m. -- 6800 Livingston Road, Oxon Hill, Maryland
  • Aug. 27, 2:50 a.m. -- 2405 Fairhaven Ave., Alexandria, Virginia
  • Aug. 27, 4:13 a.m. -- 3101 Rhode Island Ave. NE, Washington, D.C.
  • Aug. 31, 1:05 a.m. -- 3100 Lockheed Blvd., Alexandria, Virginia
  • Aug. 31, 2:07 a.m. -- 14001 Baltimore Ave., Laurel, Maryland
  • Sept. 3, 8:40 a.m. -- 6138 North Kings Highway, Alexandria, Virginia

The FBI said four men entered the stores on the night of the Aug. 31 robberies.

In some of the incidents, customers have been robbed as well.
