The Baltimore-Washington Parkway was closed in both directions between routes 197 and 198 for more than four hours as police investigate an early morning fatal crash.
At about 3:20 a.m., a woman driving north left the roadway and struck a tree on the median strip, police said. She was killed.
Police redirected traffic around the crash. They are investigating how it happened.
