Examiner Says Metro Picks New GM

The Washington Examiner is reporting that Metro's board has chosen a new general manager, citing one board member who would not say who the pick would be.

Recent media reports have said that three finalists were being interviewed. The Examiner reported that, according to Fairfax County Supervisor Jeff McKay, who served on the search committee, "all that remains is to finalize the contract negotiations and make a formal vote."

Sources could not confirm a decision to NBC Washington.

Current interim general manager Richard Sarles has expressed interest in the job in the past. The Examiner reported that Sarles "is the likely pick.
