Ex-Clyde's Controller Pleads Guilty to Mail Fraud

The former controller of Clyde's Restaurant Group pleaded guilty to embezzling almost $650,000 from the company.

Nancy Preston, 55, of Vienna, Va., entered the plea Wednesday in U.S. District Court. She will be sentenced Dec. 12.

Preston also agreed to sign over $258,000 worth of stock awards and options to Clyde's and to a forfeiture judgment of almost $400,000.

According to a statement of offense, Preston, who worked at Clyde's for almost 30 years, diverted Clyde's money to her personal credit card to buy goods for her use.
