Plea Deal Possible in Eric Toth Child Porn Case

Eric Toth was on the FBI's Most Wanted list

A plea deal may be reached for the former D.C. elementary school teacher who made the FBI's Top 10 Most Wanted List for allegedly making and possessing child pornography.

At a federal court hearing Thursday, prosecutors and the defense announced a possible agreement to resolve the case of Eric Toth, the third grade teacher at Beauvoir Elementary School on the grounds of the National Cathedral. Another hearing was scheduled for June 26.

Eric Toth is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday afternoon in Washington.

He was arrested in Nicaragua last month after five years on the run. The FBI last year added him to its “Ten Most Wanted” list to try to drum up attention to the case.

In 2008, Toth was escorted from the campus of Beauvoir after another school employee reported finding images of child pornography on a school camera in Toth's possession. He fled before he could be arrested.
