An 8-year-old was accidentally shot Thursday while at his home in Loudoun County, deputies said.
A family member of the victim was unloading his firearm at their home on the 38000 block of Stevens Road in Lovettsville, Va., when the firearm unintentionally went off, authorities said.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was held for observation.
