Disguised Men Steal More Than $110K in Jewelry From Md. Store

Police are searching for two men who stole more than $110,000 worth of jewelry from a Rockville jewelry store.

The men, dressed in costumes and armed with guns, entered the Van Jewelry Store on Viers Mill Road on Sept. 15. Investigators say the robbers ordered the employees to get on their knees while they emptied several display cases.

The men left the area in a white, older model four-door sedan with a white paper registration plate. Police believe the vehicle was a Honda or Toyota.

Witnesses say the first robber was a Hispanic man dressed in a plaid shirt, dark pants and a white, round cap. He was wearing a fake beard and glasses. Witnesses told police the man was heavy set, but investigators believe he was wearing something under his clothes to appear heavier.

The second robber was covered head-to-toe in a black robe.
