Delta Flight Returned to Gate for Passenger Issue

Passengers reportedly got up while plane taxied on runway

An all clear has been given at Reagan National Airport after a Delta flight bound for Detroit was taken back to the departure gate Friday afternoon, according to law enforcement officials.

Delta Flight 3290 was pulling away from the gate and beginning to taxi, several law enforcement officials said, when a small group of passengers got up and began moving around, disobeying flight crew instructions to remain seated.

An off-duty federal agent saw them moving, alerted the flight crew, and the plane returned to the gate. Passengers were taken off, luggage was checked, and it was determined to be a language issue -- the passengers did not understand the crew instructions.
