Deadline Looms for Virginia Absentee Ballots

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE If you want to vote in Virginia’s primary elections by absentee ballot, time is running out.

Voters have until Tuesday at 5 p.m. to apply for absentee ballots in this month’s elections.

Both Democratic and Republican primary elections will be held Aug. 23 for local and state legislative seats.

To apply, you must get your application to your local election board by Tuesday.

However, you must have it postmarked by the end of Monday, as ballots with an Aug. 16 postmark won’t be accepted.

If you miss the deadline to receive an absentee ballot by mail, you may still be able to vote in-person at your county election office until Aug. 20.

To find your voting location, just go to the Virginia State Board of Elections website.
