    A heartbroken Brooklyn mom says a police officer failed to help her as she desperately tried to get her daughter to the hospital following an asthma attack, according to news reports.

    Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating a daytime murder in Southeast.

    At about 3:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, police responded to a report of a shooting at the 800 block of Southern Avenue SE. When they arrived on the scene, they discovered the victim, 29-year-old Darrel Hendy, lying in the street, incapacitated by gunshot wounds.

    D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services took the victim to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

    Police have not made any arrest in the case and have no motive at this time.
