Leesburg Ranked Among Best Places to Live

Money ranks Leesburg No. 4 on list.

“Location, location, location.” Real estate agents have another option to sell prospective buyers on moving outside the Beltway.

Money ranked Leesburg, Va. in Loudoun County No. 4 on its list of 100 Best Places to Live in America. This current list highlights small towns in the country with 50,000 people or less. Writers also looked at job opportunities, crime rates, outdoor activities and weather.

Money described Leesburg as a town that offers plenty of good jobs in government, contracting, consulting and technology. It was knocked for traffic. But writers said the tradeoff to live in a picturesque town is worth it.

No. 1 on Money’s list of Best Places to Live: Louisville, Colo. -- which is right outside Denver. Writers noted the town’s low crime rate, jobs, clean air and outdoor mountainous activities.

Some local other notables on the list: Herndon, Va., ranked 34 followed by Montclair and Oakton respectively at 35 and 36. Montgomery Village, Md., made the list at 40 followed by Manassas Park, Va. at 56 and Crofton, Md., at 82.
