DC Schools to Hire New Administrators

D.C. Public Schools is looking to hire 13 new instructional superintendents.

The senior managers would directly supervise school principals and oversee academic performance. The annual salary is more than $100,000, according to the school system’s website.

Chancellor Michelle Rhee said the new positions will not increase spending. She said staff cuts under six existing instructional superintendents will make it “budget neutral.”

The school system still needs to find money to pay for raises that were promised in the latest contract.
