D.C. United Apparently Homeless Yet Again

Prince George's Co. Council votes no

Hey Virginia, are you interested in a professional soccer team?

After getting the cold shoulder from the District, D.C. United thought they had a deal for a new stadium in Prince George's County. But Tuesday night those dreams of luxury boxes and a swanky locker room in Maryland likely died.

Why? Because the Prince George's County Council voted 8-0 against legislation that would allow a state-led study to evaluate the proposed D.C. United stadium.

D.C. United representative Doug Hicks said the team is "disappointed at the outcome of this vote. It's certainly unusual for an elected body to decide it would rather not learn the facts of a proposed opportunity. We will continue conversations with other jurisdictions regarding a future home for D.C. United."
