Teens and those ages 20-21 can start applying for a job through the D.C. summer jobs program Friday.
Mayor Muriel Bowser will launch the program at noon. The six-week, subsidized program is for young people ages 14 to 21. It's billed as a chance for them to gain professional experience, pick up new skills, and network.

The program has a new official name this year: Bowser signed an order earlier this month to rename it the Mayor Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program, in honor of the program's founder. Barry died in November at age 78.
