D.C. Storage Company Saves Annual Toy for Tots Drive

Montgomery County's Toys for Tots program was facing serious trouble for its holiday program this year -- until a local storage company stepped up to help.

Last year, Toys for Tots in the county had collected 60,000 toys and provided gifts for kids through 150 different agencies.

But the man in charge of the program, Paul Gunther, told News4 last week about his struggle to find the space needed to sort and store toys this year. He was concerned they wouldn't be able to host the annual toy drive at all this year.

After viewing the story originally aired on News4, Metropolitan Moving and Storage has stepped up and offered thousands of square feet of storage space for the Montgomery County Toys for Tots program during the upcoming holiday season.

Metro Moving and Storage CEO Jonathan Neal was set to meet with Toys for Tots on Monday to hand over the keys to the space. Toys for Tots is expected to move in on Tuesday.
