Stick Shift Makes Carjackers Give Up

A good alternative to the Club?  A manual transmission.

Police said two would-be carjackers gave up after realizing a vehicle they were trying to steal was not automatic, Hometown Annapolis reported.

The attempted theft happened at an Exxon station on Camp Reade Road, Linthicum, between midnight and 1 a.m. Wednesdsay.

Two masked men, one with a gun, attempted to take a 21-year-old man's 2005 Volkswagen.

But upon discovering that the car was a stick shift, the thieves gave up the crime and left.
