    Early Voting Begins in the District

    Some voters started casting early and absentee ballots Saturday in D.C. News4's Derrick Ward takes a look at what's on the ballot. (Published Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016)

    Residents in Washington, D.C., began casting their votes for the 2016 elections Saturday as part of early voting.

    Voters can go to the Old Council Chambers at One Judiciary Square from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. to cast an early ballot. Eight other locations throughout the D.C. will open next Saturday, Oct. 28.

    Early voting closes on Nov. 4. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Nov. 1.

    Locations and times for early voting:

    • Ward 2: One Judiciary Square, Oct. 22 – Nov. 4, 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    • Ward 1: Columbia Heights Community Center, Oct. 28- Nov. 4, 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    • Ward 3: Chevy Chase Community Center, Oct. 28- Nov. 4, 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    • Ward 4: Takoma Community Center, Oct. 28- Nov. 4, 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    • Ward 5: Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, Oct. 28- Nov. 4, 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    • Ward 6: Sherwood Recreation Center, Oct. 28- Nov. 4, 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    • Ward 6: King Greenleaf Recreation Center, Oct. 28- Nov. 4, 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    • Ward 7: Dorothy I. Height/Benning Library, Oct. 28- Nov. 4, 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    • Ward 8: Malcolm X Elementary School, Oct. 28- Nov. 4, 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
