The D.C. metro area was blanketed by snow overnight by a winter storm, with several parts of the region seeing 10 or more inches.
As one would expect, roads are covered, making travel treacherous for those who had to venture out Thursday morning. WAMU's Matt McCleskey, host of "Morning Edition," utilized an unconvential method of transportation to get to work, skiing to the radio station's office in Northwest.
