All District of Columbia public schools will be closed on Monday to due this weekend’s worst snowstorm to hit the area in nearly a century.

All DCPS sponsored after-school programs and activities are also canceled.

Administrative offices will be open with a one-hour delay, according to officials.

The District originally said school would open on a two-hour delay, but officials reassessed after seeing the condition of roads and sidewalks.

Parents are encouraged to check the school district’s Web site for all the latest updates.
