DC Public Libraries, Schools Closed Friday

Library Spokesman Says It's Just a Coincidence

D.C. public schools are closed today for a professional development day.

The District's public libraries are also closed today for staff development. A library spokesman says the timing is a coincidence.

He says libraries were closed last year on the first Friday of December.

If you're needing your library fix, try digital downloads. DC libraries allow cardholders to download materials such as e-books, audiobooks and music -- and you get to keep the music!
