DC Prepares for Annual Potholepalooza

The month-long effort will have the city repairing potholes within a 48-hour window

The District of Columbia is preparing to begin its annual "Potholepalooza" campaign to repair roads throughout the city.

During the month-long effort beginning Tuesday, the District Department of Transportation will work to repair identified potholes within 48 hours instead of its normal response time of 72 hours. The campaign ends April 21.

Residents and commuters can go online, tweet, email or call to report a pothole.

In the first Potholepalooza held in 2009, D.C. transportation crews filled more than 6,000 potholes.
